| Empress came to Castleberry with quite an impressive reputation. Before being imported in 1985, she was 4th in the filly's class at the Royal Welsh. She was by her dam's side while her dam won the George Prince of Wales cup! Empress is the dam of Canterbrook Llwynog Du, who has in turn produced the outstanding Dressage champion North Forks Brenin Cardi who is winning over the Warmbloods out on the West Coast. Empress is also the grand-dam of other Champion offspring including Maple Lane's Celebration. In 2005 she produced an outstanding filly by *Tuscani Dundee. In 2006 she and Dundee produced a beautiful black colt. We are thrilled that Empress was able to contribute these last two foals to the North American Welsh Cob gene pool before she passed on. We thank Katie Corey of Hawkshill for entrusting this incredible mare to us in her last years.. |
