Keiko Key
(*Limerick (Dutch WB) x Boo-Key (TB) )
Keiko is a 1998, sweet and personable 16.2hh Warmblood sired by the Dutch stallion *Limerick and out
of an off the track Thoroughbred mare. She is a half sister to our other Warmblood mare,
Regal who
has produced super Welsh cross Sporthorses for us. Her sire's sire is Glendale, who is also the Grandsire
to the Dressage Superstar Totilas!
Keiko is a beautiful mover and is amateur friendly. She is an easy ride in the ring and on the trails and
requires no pre-lungeing. We have known her since her birth and did all of her early baby training. She
was successful in the Hunter Jumper ring from ages 4-7, then was brought home by her owner who
seldom rode her. We were able to purchase her and I immediately sent her to Sue Kolstad for Dressage
training, as I felt this is where Keiko would really shine. Keiko learned quickly and was a solid 2nd
level/schooling 3rd when
we brought her back home. Keiko is ready to become someone's
partner/teacher.
Castleberrys Rockette and Keiko ready to begin a recent trail ride. Rockette is a niece of Keiko, being
out of Keiko's half sister
Regal and by our Cob stallion *Tuscani Dundee.
Here is a picture of Keiko's sire, Limerick at age 4. "Glenny" is an imported Dutch Warmblood by
Glendale. He was a dressage star here in the midwest under riders Sue Kolstad and Kim and Yvonne
Barteau. He has a stellar disposition and is also becoming known as a broodmare sire. Judging by
Regal's
offspring we are inclined to agree.
